Position Overview

Our client manufactures advanced sample preparation tools based on a unique technology platform.

The Director, Strategy, Growth and Marketing reports to the CEO and is responsible for the development and implementation of global marketing plans to grow and diversify the product portfolio.  This leader will collaborate with the marketing team, product development, business development, R&D, applications, quality, engineering, manufacturing, operations, and regional sales leadership to ensure clear stakeholder alignment and smooth execution.  This role is responsible for the full spectrum of upstream and downstream marketing activities, including marketing analytics, brand strategy, digital channels, marketing communications, pricing and promotional strategy.  This role will also work to develop and mentor the marketing organization to raise overall team capability.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct in-depth analyses of the company’s current markets, competitive landscape, and commercial progress in order to inform the development of strategies that will drive enhanced revenue growth
  • Develop clear customer segmentation to enable effective targeting and positioning of our client’s products in multiple segments and geographies
  • Deliver strategy through effective brand messaging across all marketing channels. Develop metrics across channels to measure channel effectiveness
  • Manage review of target acquisitions and partnership space, with targeted companies & technologies
  • Partner with solutions team to develop value proposition and market size by workflow. Identify key share owners for each workflow market
  • Lead marketing outreach including conference schedule and new product launch messaging
  • Develop and lead implementation of pricing and promotional strategies for all products globally
  • Assess skills and talent of Marketing organization and partner with HR to create development plans that build leadership strength and increase overall team capability

Key Requirements

  • BS or advanced degree in relevant scientific or business discipline.
  • Direct experience in the Life Sciences industry
  • 5+ years of progressive leadership experience in a Marketing organization
  • 3+ years of experience in a role focused on brand leadership
  • Experience across all areas of the marketing function, both upstream and downstream.
  • Strong people leadership skills including the ability to develop and mentor the team and grow leaders within
  • Open to new and different approaches and taking calculated risks
  • Strategic thinker with excellent executional management
  • Ability to adapt leadership and communication style to our client’s core values
  • Ability to successfully communicate complex matters up, down, and across the organization
  • Combination of experience in established and emerging companies
  • Comfort with using analytics to drive decisions
  • 10% travel, primarily domestic
