Position Overview

Our Client is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director of Contracts and Proposals to join our dynamic team. In this key leadership role, you will be responsible for managing all aspects of contracts and proposals for our organization. You will play a vital role in ensuring efficient and compliant contracting processes, as well as developing compelling proposals that align with our business objectives.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Contract Management:

  • Develop and implement contract management strategies and processes to ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and company policies.
  • Negotiate and review a wide range of contracts, including master service agreements, clinical trial agreements, vendor contracts, and confidentiality agreements.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including legal, finance, and operations teams, to ensure contract terms and conditions are accurately reflected.
  • Monitor contract performance, identify risks, and proactively address any issues that may arise.
  • Stay up to date with relevant laws, regulations, and industry trends affecting contract management.

Proposal Development:

  • Lead the development of high-quality proposals in response to client requests for proposals (RFPs) and requests for information (RFIs).
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including clinical operations, medical affairs, and business development, to gather necessary information and develop comprehensive proposals.
  • Ensure proposals are strategically aligned with the organization’s goals and effectively communicate our capabilities, expertise, and competitive advantages.
  • Oversee the proposal process from initiation to submission, including timeline management, content development, and quality assurance.
  • Conduct post-proposal evaluations to identify areas for improvement and implement best practices for future proposals.

Team Leadership and Collaboration:

  • Provide leadership, guidance, and mentorship to a team of contract specialists, proposal writers, and coordinators.
  • Foster a collaborative and high-performing team environment, promoting continuous learning and professional development.
  • Coordinate with internal stakeholders to gather necessary information for contracts and proposals, ensuring clear communication and timely deliverables.
  • Collaborate with other department heads and executives to support organizational goals, share best practices, and drive process improvements.

KEY REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, life sciences, or a related field. Advanced degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 8-10 years of experience in contract management and proposal development within the life sciences or CRO industry.
  • In-depth knowledge of contract management principles, regulations, and industry best practices.
  • Proven track record of successfully negotiating complex contracts and developing winning proposals.
  • Strong understanding of clinical trial agreements, master service agreements, and vendor contracts.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex concepts in a clear and concise manner.
  • Strong leadership and team management abilities, with experience leading and motivating a diverse team.
  • Exceptional organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to prioritize multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in contract management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
