Position Overview
Our client is seeking a hands-on Head of FP&A to build and lead the FP&A function in Miami. This role will establish the company’s planning cadence, forecasting models, KPI architecture, and executive-ready reporting to support decision-making across the business. The ideal candidate thrives in a build environment, partners closely with Accounting, and drives high-impact insights for senior leadership.
Key Responsibilities
- Build and own end-to-end FP&A: annual budget, rolling forecast, long-range plan (LRP), and performance reporting cadence
- Develop driver-based models, scenario analysis, and decision support for leadership priorities
- Create KPI dashboards and variance narratives that are clear, actionable, and aligned to business drivers
- Partner cross-functionally (Operations/Manufacturing, Commercial, R&D, G&A) to improve visibility and accountability
- Align with Accounting to ensure forecast-to-actual integrity and consistent KPI definitions
- Improve reporting speed/quality through process redesign and enabling tools (ERP/planning/BI)
- Hire and develop FP&A talent as the function scales
Key Requirements
- 10+ years of progressive finance experience with significant FP&A leadership (ideally building or transforming FP&A)
- Advanced modeling/analytics skills with strong executive communication and stakeholder management
- Experience operating in fast-changing environments with limited infrastructure; builder mindset
- Willingness and ability to work onsite in Miami (required)
- Life sciences/biopharma experience (inventory/COGS drivers a plus)
- Public company experience and familiarity with close/reporting cadence and controls (even if not owning SEC reporting)
Preferred
- MBA and/or CPA/CMA a plus
