Dan Strauss is the leader of the pharmacovigilance and risk management practice (PVRM) at Klein Hersh.  He also co-leads the Human Resources and Talent Acquisition (HR/TA) practice. Dan and his team successfully partner with clients to hire more than 50 executives annually, with an emphasis on safety physicians (MD/DO) and Heads of HR and TA. He was previously responsible for building and establishing Klein Hersh’s executive recruitment capabilities in related fields such as epidemiology and biostatistics.

As the leader of the PVRM practice, Dan’s responsibilities include:

  • Partnering with biopharma companies of all sizes on the recruitment of drug safety leaders. Dan and his team have placed more than 30 global heads of drug safety at numerous companies and have helped those leaders to build their departments in areas such as pharmacovigilance operations, risk management, pharmacoepidemiology, and other functions.
  • Assisting pharma and biotech companies with large scale talent acquisition as a result of the restructuring process and other significant, strategic growth activities. Dan and his team provide the subject matter expertise and proven experience in executive staffing recruitment to companies manage their “build outs’ across numerous functional areas.

As the co-leader of the HR/TA practice, Dan’s responsibilities include:

  • Partnering with Venture Capital and Private Equity-backed companies on the recruitment of Human Resources and Talent Acquisition leaders. Dan and his team have placed numerous heads of Human Resources (CHRO, SVP, VP) at biotech, pharma services, and pharma technology organizations ranging from 12 employees to 500+.

Dan joined Klein Hersh in 2010 and has won numerous awards domestically and internationally as one of the most influential and successful recruiters in the US. Prior to joining Klein Hersh, he was a Spanish Education major at Penn State, and spent four months living abroad in Seville, Spain. He credits his teaching background for his unique approach and drive to help people become better and achieve the most that they possibly can in three major aspects of life: personally, professionally, and financially.
