Principal Engineer

Job Description:
The individual will work as a technical leader and apply advanced technical principles, theories, and concepts to drive the development and validation of robust processes for new and innovative membrane products used in filtration device solutions for Pharmaceutical, Biotech and Biotherapeutics markets. The individual will successfully transfer these products and processes from R&D to manufacturing and to commercial launch. The individual will work on cross functional teams comprised of R&D, Manufacturing, Quality, EHS, Global Supply Chain, Project Management, and Product Management. They will be able to lead multiple projects simultaneously while having responsibility for schedule, budget and success.
The individual will provide appropriate guidance to junior professionals and will promote a climate of positive employee relations by fostering two-way communication and by resolving employee issues in a timely manner.
Job Qualifications:
The individual must possess solid chemical engineering skills and be highly proficient in the areas of project planning, problem solving, experimental design, risk assessment, and statistical data analysis. Experience in product and process design, from bench-top to commercialization, is ideal. Knowledge of manufacturing and process development activities such as process validation, design of experiments, FMEA and design for manufacturing is required. Knowledge and experience in membrane formation, web handling, coating, and/or polymer science is a plus. Knowledge of filtration products, processes and applications is very helpful. The individual must possess effective oral and written communication skills and MS/equivalent plus 10 years experience or PhD plus 7 years of experience in Chemical Engineering, Polymer Chemistry or related discipline.
