Job Description:

This Engineer will lead internal and external resources to execute projects on time and on budget. They will motivate non-reporting personnel from other functional disciplines (Supply Chain, Quality, Manufacturing, Product Management, Procurement, etc.) to assume and/or fulfill responsibilities required for successful execution of projects. Can identify required courses of action and then executes these actions with a sense of urgency without the need for upper management oversight. This individual must be a highly motivated, self-starter that takes the responsibility to achieve project deliverables very seriously.  They will work closely with Product Management to ensure that the scope of new projects is adequately defined. Once defined, vigorously defend against scope creep and project delay.

They will drive the conception, prototyping, and development of innovative new products and manage these projects from the Preliminary Investigation Stage through the Validation Stage. Use statistical methods to design experiments and analyze data in a methodical, efficient manner that allows the deduction and inference of useful conclusions. Drive, manage, and develop junior professionals and technicians and serve as a technical consultant in area of expertise. (plastics engineering, molding, part design, mechanical design, etc.)

Job Qualifications:

B.S./M.S in engineering and a minimum of 12 years experience in a related technical area. Preferred disciplines: Plastics, Chemical, Mechanical and/or Material Science. Proficiency in mechanical drawing and design, including proficiency with at least 13D CAD package, preferably Pro-E, (secondarily Solid works) Proficiency with statistics and a statistical package, preferably Minitab. Design of Experiments experience desirable. Experience with Rapid Prototyping techniques. Knowledge of machining techniques and experience working with machine shops to produce prototypes, fixtures, and equipment. Knowledge and experience working with plastic materials and processing operations, particularly injection molding. Experience with design, procurement, and validation of injection molds, and other equipment. Experience generating project plans, preferably in Microsoft Project. Knowledge and experience with product development and product validation.
