Job Description:

Our client is a global bio/pharmaceutical company committed to the discovery and development of breakthrough small molecule drugs for serious diseases has a newly created role, the Director of the Patient Access Services Program will be responsible for the following:
 
Function as the lead subject matter expert on Patient Assistance Program services, co-pay assistance and reimbursement hotline
 
Assume leadership responsibilities for the following activities:

  • Partner with external vendors and internal stakeholders to identify and recommend appropriate patient assistance, hotline reimbursement and co-pay assistance programs for future pharmaceutical products
  • Recommend and present program designs to senior management, with the ability to justify rationale for  design selection and financial impact
  • Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to create and implement program elements, departmental standard operating procedures, policies, resources, etc., as these relate to assigned company products
  • Participate on various cross-functional teams, representing Patient Assistance Program
  • Act in complete & total compliance with all laws, regulations and company policies

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelors Degree (general business, health sciences, managed healthcare, public policy or related disciplines are a plus)
  • Graduate-level degree is a plus
  • An average of 5 or more years' related work experience in healthcare/pharmaceutical reimbursement

Must demonstrate outstanding knowledge and proficiency in a number of areas related to healthcare reimbursement and Patient Assistance Programs:

  • Experience in patient focused programs within associated HIPAA regulations and other legal parameters and patient privacy policies
  • General knowledge/understanding of the managed care industry environment and government payers
  • Proficiency in all aspects of patient reimbursement, (i.e., benefit investigations, payer reimbursement policies and procedures, regulatory and administrative rules, etc.)
  • Knowledge of reimbursement and co-pay funding resources
  • Expertise in Patient Assistance Program systems, processes, policies, and industry standards

Some travel may be required.
